I hope we all have a pleasant and safe weekend and most of all that we remember those who have fought for our freedoms. My step dad was a disabled veteran and I grew up visiting the hospitals. To look in the eyes of those who survived but barely and who were changed forever, told the stories of those who didn't make it. I thank everyone who gave their life in service of their country and I believe every freedom that we have today is owed to those who fought for them on our behalf. I hate war. I don't always agree with the politics behind wars and I even protested Vietnam because of my disbelief in our need to be there and the draft that forced people to go into that situation. But that didn't change my respect for the people who went bravely in the face of danger to do what they were told would help protect freedom and relieve repression. I love peace and I love my freedom. It is so very unfortunate that they are often gained and protected at such a high price.
God Bless us all; lets pray for peace.

FDA SEEKS TO CLASSIFY NATURAL SUBSTANCES AS DRUGS

I just received this – how this issue got by me I don't know – but the FDA is trying to declare natural substances as Drugs. And that is not all!

but for the sake of time please forward this mail to as many as you can prior to reading the article as it is lengthy – at this point there is barely two hours left to reply to the FDA.

Please!!! Put People before Drug Companies. To regulate natural substances the same as drugs is exceedingly unreasonable and will surely lead to financial hardships, illness and death. Natural Substances such as foods and vitamins have no place in the DRUG classification. Drugs are manufactured for the soul reason of artificially affecting the human body in a way that nature has not provided. The FDA needs to concentrate on what it is already supposed to be doing better in regards to natural substances and preventing poisons and unsafe foods from entering human and pet foods not catering to the Drug Company Cartels. We know they make huge contributions to keep their interests in power. Please put the people first as lives are at stake. Thank you for your consideration of my thoughts.

Virginia Tech Shooting

I am still in shock. Not again! What a tragedy for our country to be the home of such evil and insanity. What a tragedy for the victims and their families. Please, lets don't make it a worse tragedy by not making it count for something good.
Before we loose any more of our children at school, it is time for a radical movement that will inspire the change needed for peace and social reform on individual levels. We have to want to be better and for America to be better than this. We have to want it enough to live our lives as more intelligent and kinder people. We have to take the time to pay attention to the people around us so that we might be forewarned that a potential enemy is in our midst.
Its just so tremendously sad on so many levels. Please pray for peace among the families, at the school, in Virginia, throughout America and around the world that we might know what to do today and understand the change it will take to accomplish more peace in the future. Evil must not win in this situation! Some how love must prevail.
Which Manufacturers Sold Dog Fur?
Its a shame. The best thing to do is boycott fur and even fake fur as some things aren't being labeled properly. This also goes for stuffed animals. Here is the list of manufacturers recently caught selling dog fur mislabeled as other types of fur or not labeled as fur at all. Unless you live in a frozen tundra, you don't need to wear fur.
Another Name Added to My Hero List
Burt Munro
Burt modified his own motorcycle based on an Indian bike and traveled from New Zealand to the USA Utah Salt Flats to eventually break the land speed record that still stands today. He was a maverick and an intelligent all round good guy who persisted against the odds to make his mark in the world.
